Egypt crisis: continuing clashes in Cairo
Pro Morsi marchers  chanted  : "Egypt is Islamic, it will not be secular, it will not be liberal!" Morsi's calls fordialogue have been rejectecd by the opposition  because he refused to delay the the referendum or withdraw his decree declaring his absolute powers.

The country is dangerously polarised and the Army Supreme Military Council has issued a statement calling for dialogue , saying that "The path of dialogue is the best and only way to reach agreement and achieve the interests of the nation and its citizens," the military statement released on Saturday said that incresing violence risked leading Egypt intoa dark tunnel with disastrous results.

The statement by the military said that the the army would not permit the situation to descend into violence. This a clear warning to the opposition lead by Mohamed ElBaradei and Amr Moussa amongst others who have refused to engage in dialogue , a meeting was held to day which was only attended by proMorsi groups  like the Muslim Brotherhood, the FJP  and the salafist Al Nour party. However if the situation does slip out of control , President Morsi could find himself held responsible for inciting the crisis by his decree and his calling for a referendum on the draft consitution without intiating the dialogue he is now calling for. He has lost the confidence of the secular opposition who are now openly calling for him to stand down as President.
