EU Neighbourhood Action Plan for Tunisia
In 2011 he EU  has almost doubled its financial support to Tunisia, from the €80 million initially planned for 2011 to €160 million committed in response to events and the adoption of a new ENP Action Plan .

This resulted in deepening relations in the framework of a privileged partnership which  will mark an important stage in bilateral relations, according to an EU Commission report.

The doubling of EU assistance was a recognition of Tunisia's post actions including establishment of commissions on a range of issues including  political reform, corruption, and crimes comitted during the revolution ,the rights of women, and the reform of the justice system in an effort to pursue its democratic future and the EU responded in supporting this effort and helpingTunisia face the post revolution challenges and the economic aftermath especially unemployment and deprived areas.

The report proposes a number of recommendations for the next EU Tunisia action plan including strengthening the election process, the implementation and protection of human rights, structures for strenthening democracy such as an independent judiciary, security sector reform and free media and strengthening the role of civil society. It also wants to prepare  unisia for ntegration to the European single market, which will include negotiations on a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA).
