The Minister Delegate for the Budget, after contradicted his Finance Minister Nizar Baraka, denying any crisis in Morocco, this time to attack, statements by the head of the Moroccan government, which called for austerity
Driss El Azami: There will be no austerity plan in Morocco
Driss El Idrissi Azami, Minister Delegate for the Budget and number two in the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Islamist PJD, categorically denied that Morocco would advocate an austerity plan or a structural adjustment plan, on the occasion the acceptance by the Kingdom of the IMF PLL loan of  $6.2 billion.
 
According to Mr  El Azami, Morocco suffers no economic crisis, but only that economic problems will be overcome soon through urgent measures and medium term.
 

The statement coming from Mr El Azami contradicts those of the head of government during an interview  with Al Jazeera, inviting Moroccans to tighten their belts, shortly aftercoming to power.  

El Azami  statement was  reported by the Moroccan daily Al Bayan Yaoum, a publication linked to the  PPS and allied to the government.

Economy and Finance Minister Nizar Baraka said that  Morocco faces a liquidity crisis and deteriorating trade figures, and a decline in remittances from Moroccans working abroad as well as an increasing trade deficit.   However, he also said that  economic growth is still expected to be positive. Morocco's credit rating remains unaffected.
