Paris - The development of Africa is at the heart of the common interest of Morocco and France, French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said on Thursday in Paris. "The issue of the development of the African continent is at the heart of the common interest of Morocco and France. We follow with attention and a lot of admiration the considerable investment made by Morocco in the development of the region," said the French Prime Minister at a press conference with Head of Government Saad Dine El Otmani, at the end of the France-Morocco High Level Meeting. It is a "policy for the future" for both Morocco and France, said Philippe.

For France, achieving this objective requires increasing efforts in terms of aid to development. To do this, greater attention must be paid to African countries for which France and Morocco have "a shared interest" to contribute to guaranteeing their development, said the French Prime Minister. "We are convinced that we can jointly, Morocco and France, in a certain number of projects, bring a common voice and combine our skills and our efforts to obtain results. This issue was raised during the high level meeting and it is true that it can be involved in terms of infrastructure, trade relations, and education and higher education," said Philippe, adding that "there is a considerable effort to be made and we, Morocco and France, have a common interest in making sure to support the African countries which are, most often, in full dynamism." The French Prime Minister praised the excellent relations between France and Morocco, saying that the holding of this High Level Meeting is the perfect example.
