Samedi 14 Mars 2020

Rabat - Classes will be suspended as of Monday, March 16, until further notice, in all day cares, educational establishments, vocational training institutes and universities, whether private or public, announced on Friday the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This decision, which is part of the preventive measures aimed at stemming the spread of the Coronavirus "Covid-19", is applicable to all public and private higher education establishments, executives' training establishments which do not belong to universities, schools and language centers under foreign missions, language centers and private tutoring centers, the ministry said in a statement. The ministry said that this is not an exceptional school vacation, especially since distance learning will be provided to allow students to continue their studies while staying at home. The decision to suspend courses represents a preventive measure aimed at protecting the health of pupils, trainees, students, administrative and pedagogical staff working in educational establishments and all citizens, the ultimate objective being to combat spread of the Coronavirus, declared as a global "pandemic" by the WHO. In order to contribute to facing this exceptional situation, educational and administrative staff are urged to get involved effectively in the implementation of the measures to be taken in order to guarantee the continuity of courses by providing sufficient digital and audio-visual resources and didactic kits for distance teaching and training in favor of the learners, the same source said. The ministry assures that it will inform the family of education, training and scientific research as well as the learners, their parents and the citizens, of all the developments of the situation via all the available channels.
