Counterterrorism: Morocco 'Actively' Engaged in GCTF Efforts, Says Diplomat
"As a founding member, Morocco is actively engaged" in the Forum's activities, bringing initiatives by hosting meetings and chairing the Working Group on foreign terrorist fighters, Bourita told reporters on the sidelines of the 6th ministerial meeting of GCTF in which Morocco was represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar.

He also pointed out that Morocco's commitment earned it the co-chair of the forthcoming ministerial meeting of the Forum with the Netherlands, noting that the Kingdom intends to make this presidency an "instrument" to highlight that counterterrorism is not only based on the security approach, but on a more comprehensive approach.

For Bourita, counterterrorism requires an approach that is based on the dimensions of prevention and fight against the "root causes" of this phenomenon.
