Coronavirus: 6th Confirmed Case in Morocco, Ministry of Health

Rabat - The Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday a new confirmed case of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) in Morocco, bringing the number of contaminated people to six. The patient is a French female national of Senegalese origin aged 64 and suffering from a chronic disease. She arrived in Fez on March 5 coming from France, the ministry said in a statement. After presenting respiratory symptoms on Saturday, March 7, the patient went to a hospital where she was treated by a specialized medical staff who suspected contamination with the coronavirus.

The analyzes carried out at the laboratory of the Pasteur-Morocco Institute turned out to be positive and the patient was provided with medical care in accordance with the sanitary procedures in force, added the same source. The ministry said that its departments are making the necessary arrangements regarding such cases, in accordance with national and international health standards, as well as making sure to identify the patient's contacts for an assessment of their possible contamination.
