Communication-advertising: launch in Algeria of the ninth version of the ICC Code

The ninth version of the Consolidation of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) on the best practices for advertising and marketing communications was launched on Tuesday in Algeria during the sixth Euro-Maghrebian Days of advertising and communication.

The ICC  (International Chamber of Commerce) is the voice of world business championing the global economy as a force for economic growth, job creation and prosperity.

CC activities cover a broad spectrum, from arbitration and dispute resolution to making the case for open trade and the market economy system, business self-regulation, fighting corruption or combating commercial crime.ICC has direct access to national governments all over the world through its national committees.The organization's Paris-based international secretariat feeds business views  into intergovernmental  organizations on issues that directly affect business operations.

This version of the Consolidated ICC Code, first in Algeria, has for its main objectives "to ensure an honest and truthful advertising, consumer protection and privacy safeguard and creative advertising."

Under the code, adopted on 7 June in Mexico City, "the primary asset of the self lies in its ability to attract, expand and maintain consumer confidence in relation to the business community and thereby with respect to the markets themselves, "adding that" effective self-regulation is also a valuable tool in preserving the image and reputation of a company. "

The Consolidated ICC Code was presented by Stéphane Martin, CEO of the Professional Regulatory Authority of advertising in France (ARPP). "It will highlight its use for domestic firms under good practice, even in the absence of advertising self-regulatory organization bringing together advertisers, agencies and advertising media", it was explained to HR International Communication, the initiator of the event, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Communication.
