Closure of Moroccan schools to continue until Sept.

Rabat - The Moroccan Ministry of Education announced on Tuesday that the closure of all schools in Morocco will continue until September. Students will not return to classes in educational institutions until the new academic year in September, Minister of Education Saaid Amzazi announced during a parliamentary hearing. The baccalaureate examinations will be maintained, in July and September 2020, Amzazi said, adding that exams will take into account the lessons completed by March 14, before the closure of schools. As for the other levels, only the grades obtained during the first semester of the academic year will be taken into consideration, he said. Morocco closed schools on March 16 as part of the preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
