Casablanca to host 14th l'Boulevard Festival on Sep. 13-22

Casablanca - The 14th 'Boulvard of Young Musicians" will take place on September 13-22 in Casablanca, bringing together participants from Algeria, Spain, France, Mauritania, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Senegal, and Sweden, organizers said on Tuesday.

This year's edition aspires to be original than previous years and will be marked by underground music performances and graffiti workshops, in addition to street sports competitions, and the regular Souk. More than 28 Moroccan groups will be invited to perform before an enthusiastic Casablanca public for a period of 10 days.

The six finalists will benefit from training on scenography sage management technics, production, contracts, and copyright, and in communication in Boultek, a form of Casablanca urban music art, the event's organizers said at a press conference on Tuesday.the event features artists including French-Algerian rock singer Rachid Taha, English group "The Herbaliser", Swedish group "Dark Tranquility", and Moroccan group "Bob Maghrib".

The festival will also offer graffiti workshops within its scheduled "Sbagha Bagha" initiative with Spanish and Moroccan artists.The Souk space, to be located mainly at "les abattoirs" of Casablanca (Casablanca's old slaughter house), will be an opportunity to discuss a number of social and cultural issues by national and local associations.L'Boulevard (artistic and cultural education) is a non-profit association which aims at promoting and developing modern music and urban culture in Morocco.

Since 1999, L'Boulevard has organized many alternative activities for the youth, such as concerts, training sessions, workshops, meetings and festivals (L'Boulevard, Le Tremplin, Cycle de documentaire musical).
