CNDH lauds in Geneva government's responsiveness to its recommendations
Geneva - The National Council for Human Rights (CNDH) welcomed, on Wednesday in Geneva, the government's responsiveness to its reports and recommendations for a better prevention of any form of detention and ill-treatment.

This statement was made by CNDH Secretary General Mohamed Sebbar during the interactive dialogue with the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, on the occasion of the presentation of its report to the UN Human Rights Council. The conclusions included in the UNWGAD report, in which it gives information about its mission last December in Morocco, concur with those laid down in the thematic reports of the Council, he noted. Sebbar cited in particular the recommendations related to the situation of prisons, child protection centers, mental hospitals and foreigners, as well as its memos on alternative sanctions, military judiciary and criminal procedure.

He added that the CNDH takes great interest in the dialogue with the UNWGAD and the positive contribution to its mandate, as testifies its participation in consultations with parties concerned by the right to challenge the lawfulness of detention.
