Bouaida: Morocco set strategic goals to ensure sustainable development in Africa

Khartoum - The Kingdom of Morocco has set strategic objectives to ensure sustainable development and support the causes of the African continent as part of a fruitful, solidarity-based partnership, said Minister delegate for Foreign Affairs M'Barka Bouaida, stressing that the country is driven by the desire to achieve the set objectives, mainly through the strengthening of bilateral cooperation with countries of the community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD).

In a speech before the participants in the 20th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), which began Wednesday in Khartoum, Bouaida highlighted the deep cultural, spiritual and historical ties uniting Morocco and the countries of the CEN-SAD and which were reinforced during successive Royal visits to several African countries.

The establishment of stability in the CEN-SAD is dependent on the achievement of sustainable development based on fostering an active, solidarity-based South-South cooperation, in accordance with a global strategy adopted by all member states of CEN-SAD, the Minister added.

The said strategy is based on cooperation in the fight against poverty, vulnerability, precariousness, exclusion, achieving food self-sufficiency, the development of basic infrastructure, the development of human resources, boosting investment and trade and the creation of job opportunities, she noted.
