Bombings in Paris: The National Interest underlines Morocco's valuable assistance to France and the French people

Washington - The US influential magazine The National Interest, specializing in international geo-strategic and defense issues, highlighted in its latest issue, the valuable assistance provided by Morocco to France and the French people following the terrorist attacks that targeted the city of Paris on November 13.
"As has been recognized by the most authoritative voices in France, Moroccan intelligence provided their vis-à-vis in France the information which put investigators on the trail of the deadly attacks' mastermind", says the US publication in an analysis signed by Ahmed Charai, editor and member of the board of directors of several US think tanks.

National Interest notes, in this context, the relevance and strength of the Moroccan strategy in fighting terrorism with which the Kingdom has methodically deconstructed the discourse of extremist and radical ideas' promoters that thrive on the misery and lack of social and economic opportunity, as part of a method of governance transparency footprint and safe approach that are consistent with the principles of the rule of law and the ideals of human rights.

The author noted, in this regard, that the attacks in Paris teach us that the security approach alone is not sufficient to contain the danger of religious extremism, emphasizing the strategic need to adjust the anti-terrorism approaches to adapt to the hybrid nature of this threat.

The other lesson of Paris attacks, said the US magazine, is that the three suicide bombers dead on 13 November in Paris "are French citizens who have decided to attack their country," recalling in this context that hundreds of European citizens have joined ISIS in Syria and Iraq and "are clearly guided by the will to return to their countries in Western Europe to sow fire and blood."
