Belmokhtar, U.S. Ambassador welcome results of 'ITQAN' program

Rabat - Minister of national education and vocational training, Rachid Belmokhtar, and U.S. ambassador in Rabat, Dwight L.Bush S., welcomed Wednesday in Rabat "the positive results" of "ITQAN" program, an initiative aimed at "improving training to promotion the quality of education." In a statement to reporters on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the 57-month program, Belmokhtar expressed satisfaction with the results of "ITAQN", a project of USAID (U.S. Agency for International Development) which seeks to improve the quality of teaching and introduce new methods of education.

"This is a highly successful program which has benefited both teachers and students, and we seek to expand its scope within the overall vision of the Ministry to improve the quality of education," said Belmokhtar. For his part, the U.S. ambassador welcomed the successful collaboration between USAID and the ministry of education, and the positive results of this important initiative. Launched in December 2009, "ITQAN" program aims to provide technical assistance, training, grants and materials needed to improve education quality in middle schools in Morocco.
