Rabat - The "RIAYA" operation to foster health coverage in areas stricken by bad weather and isolated rural zones enabled, since its launch in Dec. 15 and until Dec. 25, to organize 367 field trips by mobile medical units and 11 multidisciplinary medical caravans offering 30,925 and 7,350 medical services respectively.
A statement by the health ministry said that this operation, conducted upon the orders of HM King Mohammed VI, involved four regions namely: Souss- Massa-Draa, Guelmim Es-Smara, Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz, and Meknès-Tafilalet.
After assessing health infrastructure, the health minister sent a committee composed of officials from the central administration to meet with local, provincial and regional authorities in the different targeted areas to monitor the implementation of the RIAYA operation which will run until March 30, 2015, it added.
