"Autoexpo" 2013: At least 400,000 visitors for motor show in Algiers

Algiers - The 16th international exhibition for automotive show "Autoexpo" closes its doors Friday after ten (10) days of activity for which dealers have filled their orders through a large crowd of "fans" of the estimated more than 400,000 visitors.
This year, the fair organizers expected a crowd of about 400,000 visitors. Throughout the show, unparalleled enthusiasm of the public was found. The attendance reached record levels during the weekends. The fact that the show coincides with the period of the spring school holidays has also boosted the number of visits.

Citizens were particularly interested in discounts ranging between 100,000 and 200,000 AD offered by dealers. In this edition, they have made ingenuity touting models exposed to attract customers and achieve maximum sales to existing stocks of older models and sell at the best price those who are more recent.

Among the marketing tools used, there is the first advertising campaigns through newspapers and television stations.

In the lounge, an armada of young distributes brochures for visitors towards the booths of exhibitors. There are also companies that offer TV bonus for each purchase. Others go further by offering customers to take charge tax on new vehicles exceeding 70,000 dinars for the cheapest.

The 16th international exhibition for automotive "Autoexpo" opened March 19 at the Palais des Expositions (Pins maritime-Algiers) with the participation of 53 dealers of different brands, including French, Japanese and German. The event this year was held under the theme of safety and the prevention of road.

In 2012, Algeria imported 568,610 vehicles for a total value of 514.43 billion DA, against 390,140 vehicles in 2011 (354.16 billion DA), an increase of 45.75%.

French cars topped vehicles imported by Algeria, followed by Korean manufacturers.
