André Azoulay: The Arab Spring is still in its infancy, further waves are expected

During the work of the forum held Mediterranean from 4 to 7 April in Marseille, southern France, the advisor to King Mohammed VI and President of the Anna Lindh Foundation, André Azoulay, said that the Arab Spring has seen its first episodes and more profound changes are coming in the entire region.

André Azoulay analysed that the Arab Spring will have no real effect or efficacy on the development of the Arab peoples, if it moves in a Mediterranean spring, where the dreams of the south, will combine and complement the hopes the northern shores.

Azoulay pleaded at the same time, for an independent Palestine, saying that the Mediterranean will have no soul, without a sovereign and independent Palestinian State in democracy.

The King's councillor called for the end of political activism and for reform in the whole of the Mediterranean which creates a community of values, and could show through, quote, "a real dialogue, asking the real questions such as immigration, women, racism, and economic marginalisation. "
