Amrani : Morocco succeeded in its evolution thanks to reforms initiated for over ten years
Marrakesh - Morocco succeeded peacefully in its evolution thanks to reforms undertaken for a decade, minister delegate for foreign affairs Youssef Amrani said, Monday in Marrakech, during a meeting by the Transatlantic Leadership Forum organized by the State Legislative Leaders Foundation (SLLF).

In the context of the deep changes witnessed in the Arab World, Morocco has managed to succeed peacefully in its evolution on the back of reforms initiated over the past decade, said Amrani, adding that the Moroccan democratic model is based primarily on consolidating the rule of law, promoting democracy, respecting human rights, human development, strengthening good governance structures, and broadening freedoms.
He noted that the reform process which is taking place in Morocco is desired and supported by the King and responds above all to an endogenous will.
The monarchy, he said, is "not only the foundation of the Moroccan identity and tradition, but it is also the engine of reform and progress."
Regarding regional integration, Amrani emphasized the strategic importance given by the Kingdom to the construction of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU), as a promising entity likely to meet the aspirations of the peoples of the five Maghreb countries.
