The Kingdom was represented at this meeting by Adil Chtioui, Advisor to the Minister of Youth and Sports, and Osama Aouami member of the Moroccan Organisation of young volunteers.

According Chtioui, the first meeting of the Board of Directors of this project, initiated in 2011 by the Volunteers program (UNV) is to review the plans and programs to be put in place in 2013.

This meeting, which took place especially in the presence of the UN Resident Coordinator in Jordan, Costanza Farina, was an opportunity to develop strategies across the program of action of this initiative in the Arab countries concerned (Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia and Yemen), he told MAP.

Volunteering Arab youth for a better future is to leverage the power and energy of youth through volunteering, while relying on the intrinsic values of mutual aid, solidarity and social cohesion.

The project aims to facilitate the participation of local youth through volunteerism as a mechanism for achieving positive and lasting social change.

It will be implemented over three years, during which its achievements will be assessed to consider its replication and its expansion to other countries in the Arab region.
