Algiers opening work of the 40th session of the Arab Labour Conference

Algiers - The work of the 40th session of the Arab Labour Conference are open Monday in Algiers with the participation of delegations from 20 Arab countries representing three parts of production (labor-management-government).

Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security M.Tayeb Louh, the Director General of the Arab Labour Organization (ALO) Ahmed Mohamed Lokmane, and the Secretary General of the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA ), Abdelmajid Sidi Said,  were involved in this work.
 
Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, attended the opening session beside other government officials.
 
The President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika said in a message to the participants in this session, read on his behalf by the adviser to the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ali Boughazi that the event was "an important link in the process of joint Arab action and exceptional step on the path of dialogue and consultation "since it includes all the parts production in the Arab world.
 
"The current session is meant an opportunity for the coordination of Arab positions against developments in socio-economic world," said the President of the Republic, in particular, he added, "to regarding the impact that generated and continues to generate the global economic crisis on economic and social indicators in all countries of the world. "
 
This meeting will continue until Arab April 22 current occurs in the presence of some 600 participants, including the Arab Ministers of Employment and Social Affairs and representatives of unions and Arab and international organizations activating in the field of employment and the labour market.
 
Participants in this session attelleront enrichment subjects in relation to socio-economic issues related to employment. Particular attention will be given to the Unemployment Insurance and the future of employment in the light of current changes in the Arab world.
 
Reports on equitable development and aspirations of young people to decent work will be presented at the effect of emphasising the importance of the balance between social and economic development, in addition to the enrichment of the file dealing with the future of employment in the light of recent developments in the Arab region.
 
The agenda of this meeting includes a roundtable on "Employment and aspirations of the working world," hosted by four experts from Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt and representatives of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to present their views on employment, provide the organizers.
 
Twenty personalities among the pioneers in the field of labor in the Arab world  will be honoured, including 8 representatives of governments, employers' four, five workers and three of the OAT.
