In an interview with Agence France-Presse (AFP), which  APS quotes, the Head of State stressed that Algeria "supports a strong and vibrant relationship with France based on  and linked with the density of the many interests which unite our two countries. "

"With France we have a lot going on and we want to share the challenge to build a partnership that resists contingencies and moves beyond trade relations where each reduces the other to an outlet," said President Bouteflika.

He recalled that the "Algiers Declaration" signed in March 2003 between the two countries "marked their common intention to build a partnership based on what unites the two countries, the historical roots, geographical proximity, human links and many bilateral interdependencies. "

"This ambition, continued President Bouteflika is still de rigueur for the Algerian side that wants to give a concrete and operational content to this exceptional partnership that the two peoples are calling for."

To President Bouteflika, forms of partnership "ultimately matter little, it is the consistency that is essential."

This consistency, he said, "certainly passes through the intensification of political dialogue at all levels, must in my opinion, he said,  define the direction that we want to give the cooperation strategy that we aim develop for the long term between the two countries. "

"In this way, we can transcend many burdens and align our interests which really must get rid of  necessarily precarious cyclical considerations," he added.
