Algeria calls to stop the atrocities in northern Mali
We call on the international community to intervene to stop atrocities in northern Mali, neighboring Algeria, he said at a meeting of the Joint Committee  for Mauritania and Algeria on the first day of a visit thathe will  complete on Thursday.

This would avoid possible reactions of a racist and tribal nature likely to further complicate the situation in this country, he warned, without elaborating.

Abuses were denounced in recent weeks in northern Mali. The Malian army has been accused of such serious violence against members of the Arab and Tuareg community  often equated with Islamist groups who controlled the region since last year, before being driven out of the cities since January by  French army operations..

The Algerian Prime Minister urged all actors to respect the sovereignty of the Malian state and its territorial unity and stressed the serious situation in the region, with the influx of refugees that poured into the country in the immediate vicinity  such as Mauritania .

The Prime Minister of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Moulaye Laghdaf estimated that the current situation requires countries in the region to increase the coordination and cooperation to cut off any threat against (their) safety and stability.

Algeria and Mauritania, who are not participating in the military operation in Mali, quickly announced closure of their borders with their neighbors to prevent withdrawal of  jihadists troops
