For nearly 630 million dinars and a turnaround time of four months, the Moroccan company Draport won the contract for completion of the dredging of the new port of Skikda in Algeria, as announced by the Directorate Public Works of Skikda.

The Moroccan company will, under the contract, recover funds from the port, according to DTP. The foreign currency portion of this contract is 4.72 million euros.

Draport  was selected because its financial bid was lower than its competitors, whose names were not released, press reports said.

It should be noted that this is one of the few times that a Moroccan company  has been awarded contract in Algeria. This is due to recurring political tensions between the two countries against the backdrop of conflict in Western Sahara, bearing in mind that trade is almost nonexistent.
