2nd Moroccan-Spanish parliamentary forum hails royal wisdom to promote new migration policy, final statement

Madrid - The second Moroccan-Spanish parliamentary forum, held on Monday and Tuesday in Madrid, hailed the initiative of HM King Mohammed VI to promote a new migration policy in Morocco.

The participants in this forum hail the wisdom of HM King Mohammed VI who called for the elaboration of a migration and asylum policy in Morocco, in conformity with the values of the Moroccan society, the principles of human rights and the provisions of the humanitarian international law, said the final statement adopted by the forum in which took part a strong Moroccan parliamentary delegation led by speaker of the house of representatives Karim Ghellab and speaker of the house of advisors Mohamed Sheikh Biadillah.

The Moroccan and Spanish MPs reiterate, on this occasion, their commitment to continuing action for the adoption of the adequate legislations to contribute to curbing illegal immigration and organized crime, the statement said.

It also added that efforts made by Morocco to fight the said phenomena require a joint policy by all Mediterranean countries.

The MPs urged the governments of the two countries to deepen the ties of cooperation and dialogue to further reinforce political, economic and social relations and pursue laudable efforts aimed at promoting cultural and educational exchanges.
