1st of Rabi I (1436) next Wednesday and Eid Al Mawlid on Jan. 4
Rabat - The first day of Rabi I of hegira year 1436 will correspond to Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, and Eid Al Mawlid Annabawi will be celebrated on Sunday Rabi I 12, corresponding to Jan. 4, 2015, the ministry of endowments and Islamic affairs has announced on Monday.
In a statement, the ministry said that it has contacted its delegates and the Royal Armed Forces units which confirmed the non sighting of the lunar crescent announcing the beginning of the month of Rabi I in the evening of Monday, Safar 29, 1436, corresponding to Dec. 22, 2014.
The month of Safar will complete 30 days and the first day of Rabi I will be on Wednesday, and Eid Al Mawlid Annabawi will be celebrated on Jan. 4, 2015.
