WB Hails Morocco's 'All-inclusive' Plan to fight Climate Change

United Nations - The World Bank praised, here Monday, Morocco's "all-inclusive and concrete" Green Investment Plan, submitted by Morocco on the sidelines of the general debate of the UN General Assembly.

 "The plan presented today by Morocco to take up the challenges of climate change is characterized by its all-inclusiveness, as it aspires to launch a momentum of environmentally friendly investment," underlined Thomas Kerr, Principal Climate Policy Officer at the World Bank.
 
Kerr, who is also in charge of climate policy at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), was speaking at a roundtable held at the UN headquarters by Morocco and chaired by Minister Delegate for the Environment, Hakima El Haite.
 
"Morocco is the only country that has an all-inclusive plan" for environment protection and the fight against global warming, he said, noting that the Kingdom is a leader and a role model for countries in the region and beyond. 
 
Kerr also said that the World Bank is ready to support Morocco in its efforts to "promote sound environmentally friendly practices."
