Visiting British MPs briefed on Morocco's progress

Rabat - A visiting British MP delegation met here with Morocco's minister of industry trade and numeric economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, and chairman of the economic, social and environmental council Nizar Baraka.

Talks covered Morocco's economic progress and potentials, as well as recent developments following the adoption of a new immigration law, based on the royal vision meant to promote the humane and legal dimensions of immigration.

"We brought answers to precise questions on Morocco's role in Africa and the lofty decision made by HM King Mohammed VI to regularize the situation of undocumented sub-Saharan Africans, said El Alamy who also underscored the Kingdom's "bold" and "resolved" approach in matters of renewable energies promotion and openness onto the African continent.

"It is important that the British government views Morocco as a political and trade partner", said a British legislator, underlining Morocco's importance in North Africa and the Maghreb.

During their meeting with the president of the economic, social and environmental council, the British MPS were informed on progress made in major projects carried out in Moroccan southern provinces and commended the development model, designed in consultation with the Southern Provinces inhabitants and elected officials.
