United States in northern Mali ?
Americans are starting to show their muscles in the case for the intervention in the Sahel. Silent until a few weeks ago, they are now showing far more interest in the region following the attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi.. After Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen, next generation U .S. drones may be going into action to chase narco-Islamists who operate freely in the Azawad region.  The information was reported by the French satirical magazine Le Canard Enchaîné in its Wednesday edition, the Algerian daily Le Matin reports.

The CIA wants to acquire a dozen drones armed with bombs, missiles and rockets urgently, writes the satirical French  publication which draws its sources from French intelligence services. Twenty small spy planes are already stationed in Burkina Faso, but this is not enough for the USA. They want killers like those operating in Pakistan and Yemen. These have resulted from 2004 to 2012, in 3,325 killed, including 176 children, according to a study by two U.S. universities.

The key fact is that this region of Africa  has came under the magnifying glass and the control of  unmanned aircraft. According to Le Canard Enchaîné, Americans are being installed in Djibouti an important base for these drones. It  soon may be accommodating 46 MQ-1B Predator drones, 1,100 special forces commandos and twenty F15 fighter jets.
