Unemployment close to a record in France
Faced with the continuing rise in unemployment for nearly two years, the government dismisses any "resignation" while the number of registered at employment centers in February  awaited at 18.00 is expected to set a new record after the peak in 1997 (3,185,000 ).

The figures are "woefully bad," Laurent Berger predicted Tuesday morning, the secretary general of the CFDT.

End of January, 3,169,000 job seekers without activity were recorded in France. A further increase would be the 22nd running for this category of unemployed.

While the government announced Monday additional resources for employment center, all measures of support and training for the unemployed "will not replace a policy of growth (...) we need a more dynamic economic policy," said M . Berger.

Against unemployment, "there will never be a  tried everything," said the Prime Minister on Monday taking the opposite of the expression used by François Mitterrand in 1993 and boasting the tools put in place by the government: jobs for the future young or low-skilled (15,000 signed at the end of March on a target of 100 000 this year) and contract generation, took effect last week.

Jean-Marc Ayrault signed in the Paris suburbs one of the first generation contracts. With this assistance, the government hopes to hire 500,000  young people by the end of five years, and many seniors remain in their jobs.

To support employment center, which is managed from its creation in 2008 (fusion ANPE Assedic) 1.5 million more unemployed, including 950,000 with no activity (+43%), the government has decided on a new effort: 2000 CDI more by September, after a reinforcement equivalent in 2012.

Public service employment, cut 1,800 positions in 2011 and with growing unemployment,it  is regularly criticised for ineffectiveness in its internal organization and its dehumanisation. During his campaign, François Hollande promised new ways.
