The accused are sued for forming a criminal gang to prepare and commit terrorist attacks within the framework of a collective plot to seriously undermine public order, with recidivism, membership in a banned religious group and holding unauthorized public meetings.

A statement from the Interior Ministry announced in January the dismantling of a "jihadist" cell active in the cities of Nador, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, Taza, Fez and Marrakech, and has a combat experience gained within terrorist organizations linked to al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

The cell leader, former serviceman, moved to live in Nador (northeastern Morocco) after he resigned from the Spanish army. He then started recruiting volunteers for Jihad for his terror cell.
