The Renault factory in Algeria will be launched in September
"The completion of this facility will begin in September," said Mr. Kugler at a press conference held at the headquarters of Oran in the presence of several officials of the diamond brand and Abdelkader Bensaid, Chief of Oued Tlelat  Diara where the  production plant will be located

"The choice of land which extends over 15 hectares is excellent," he said, noting that the next steps in this process will focus on servicing the issuance of building permits expected in June, and preparatory work before the start of construction of the plant.

The output of the first Renault car factory Algeria Oued Tlelat, southeast of the city of Oran, is expected in November 2014, confirmed Mr. Kugler recalling that the vehicle model,  "Symbol", has been unveiled at the Auto Algiers show. The  Oued Tlelat  plant work in firsf  phase will have a production rate of 25,000 vehicles / year, the official said.

"This project is progressing at a rate agreed," he argued, noting that this operation materialises the agreement signed last December in Algiers on the occasion of the visit of French President François Hollande. This agreement led to the creation of Renault Algeria Production (RAP) comprising three partners with, the Algerian side, the National Society of vehicles (SNVI) and the National Investment Fund (NIF) and the French  diamond brand.

"The Algerian suppliers of the future plant have already been identified," said Mr. Kugler, indicating that the screening of these operators is conducted by SNVI. Questioned on various issues relating to the quality and safety of the future  "made in Algeria" vehicle, he assured that "the Oued Tlelat  factory benefit from the best technology from  Renault"to produce a car to the same standards applied  in France.

With regard to the exclusivity agreement granted to his group in Algeria, he indicated that it covers only the industrial and non-exclusive administrative areas, explaining that this agreement gives the  Oued Tlelat plant three years to become sufficiently robust before the implementation of any other car factory.

Mr. Kugler  refered  to the allegations attributing benefits to the group from  Algerian government, stated that "the exclusivity agreement gives no advantage to Renault at the administrative level, and  there are tender, groups which  are postulated as well as other bidders. "

The part played by  training was also discussed during the meeting, the representative of Renault revealing in this respect that the group will contribute to the development of theoretical and practical modules at the Vocational Training Centre in  Tlelat Oued, near plant  which will generate 350 direct jobs in the first phase.

For his part, the head of the Daira at  Ouet Tlelat mentioned the creation of a dry port, adjacent to the plant, which will facilitate customs clearance and delivery in timely equipment, adding that the  rail routing path  from the port of Oran is also envisaged.
