The MNLA renounce independence of Azawad

MNLA recognizes the territorial integrity of Mali and wants to enter into dialogue with the authorities in Bamako.

At a meeting on Sunday with the ECOWAS mediator for Mali, President Blaise Compaoré, the MNLA  said they were willing to engage with the Malian authorities according to Maliweb quoting the BBC
 
To engage in peace talks, the parties will renew a call to President Dioncounda Traoré to request of the Heads of State of ECOWAS to create a national structure to promote dialogue with the North.
 
When President Compaoré,  ECOWAS mediator for Mali received the armed movements of northern last June, he asked them to agree on a political platform that would not call into question the territorial integrity of the country and to apart from extremism and terrorism.
 
His political platform which does not call into question the territorial integrity of the state requires the participation of Mali and Bamako authorities.
 
"We are here today to inform the world that we have succeeded after months working with the MNLAto agree on a political platform with very clear and crisp aspirations in order to achieve the first policythat regulates the crisis between us in Mali for 52 years, "said Ibrahim Ag Assaleh particular member of the National Transitional Council of Azawad and Head of the Delegation.
 
"We demand our right to self-determination  which does not mean secession. It is the right to life, health, education, political rights and the right to expression, "he said,Mali Web reported quoting the BBC
 
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso,the ECOWAS mediator, in agreement with the Presidents Alassane Ouattara of Côte d'Ivoire and Nigeria's Goodluck Jonathan,  will prepare and submit to the parties in conflict, a formal framework for dialogue taking into account the requirements expressed by the Heads of State of ECOWAS.
 
These include the preservation of the territorial integrity of Mali, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and people's access to northern Mali humanitarian and social services.
 
This framework, as Djibril Bassolé  Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso said, determines the agenda of inclusive talks leading to the establishment of a global definitive agreement on peace, stability and development.
