Tangier's Free Zone awarded best international logistic project at Barcelona SIL 2013

Barcelona - Tangier's Free Zone (TFZ) won, on Tuesday in Barcelona, the best international logistic project award at the fifteenth edition of the International Logistics and Material Handling Exhibition (SIL 2013).

The award was handed to the Director General of the TFZ Mehdi Tazi-Riffi by the Spanish Minister of equipment, Ana Pastor, during the opening ceremony of the 15th International Logistics Exhibition, which takes place from June 18 to 20 in Barcelona with the participation of Morocco as a guest of honor.

Founded in 1999, Tangier's Free Zone is the most important business hub in the region. Computer engineering, automotive and aeronautic sectors, textile, mechanics, training, ...475 companies of all sizes boosted by foreign investment from the European Union, United States of America, North Africa and the Middle East have generated more than thirty different activities.

Guest Country of SIL 2013, Morocco is represented in this event by the Ministry of Transport and Equipment, Logistics Development Agency, National Ports Agency representing all the country's ports-, Special Agency Tanger Méditerranée (TFZ), National Railway Agency (ONCF), Marsa Maroc, National Office of Airports (ONDA).

Logistics has become a priority in Morocco as evidenced by the fact that the National Logistics Development Plan envisages the construction of 70 logistics platforms, the setting up of a national network of logistics zones Multi flow and an ambitious plan for the sector specific training.
