Beyond the work whose inauguration will take place Thursday, December 6, 2012. On the occasion of the presentation of new works of Hossein Tallal, this exhibition traces the prolific artist bringing his major works of the 60s until today.After four years of absence from the art scene, Hossein Tallal unveils his latest series to date.
A first for this talented artist internationally recognized but rarely engaged, reserving for meaningful exhibitions. This is special because the artist pays homage to the artist Toulouse Lautrec posters. Hossein Tallal shares with him the taste for Parisian evenings and delivers a true admiration for his characters as living Goulue or Valentin the Boneless. Hossein Tallal dedicates a series of portraits and characters that move with flexibility and grace. Mastering the palette and drawing technique with a rare lyricism, Tallal brilliantly captures the posture and movement of the legendary dancers.
Lovers of Talal's art will also delight in rediscovering all his wonderful work with his famous series "the forgotten circus", "imaginary characters" or rare drawings dating from the 70s that made him a child prodigy of Moroccan painting. Indeed, from his artistic beginnings, Hossein Tallal was recognized by his peers. The youngest artist to be crowned with the Grand Prix du Salon d'Hiver in Morocco in 1965, which was in competition over 160 artists living in Morocco, mostly European. Hossein Tallal was taken under the wing of his master and friend Cherkaoui. Hossein Tallal then integrateed quickly with a closed circle of critics and collectors of art in Paris. He exhibited in 1967 in Paris at the Roue Gallery , then the Oiel du Bouef and participated in several exhibitions around the world such as the Miro Foundation in Barcelona but also in Denmark, the United States or Egypt ... At Once adopted by Zadkine and recognized by renowned art critics, like the art historian and academician Huygues René, who referred to his work in the book "Art in the World" Hossein Tallal is undoubtedly "one of the best Moroccan painters" said the art critic Jean Bouret.
For fifty years, Hossein Tallal has been constantly shaping a pictorial vision inhabited by whimsical romantics whose eyes mingle with mixed feelings from a desire to escape and dreams of abysmal sadness never addressed . This plethora of poignant characters - sometimes acrobatic, sometimes thoughtful - is displayed at La Galerie 38 to deliver a part of the soul of this great artist to its visitors.
