Syrian Crisis: FM meets with Ambassadors of France, Russia, and China
This meeting is part of consultation meetings between Morocco and the permanent members of the Security Council of the UN, in order to achieve a balanced position vis-à -vis the Syrian crisis, said Mr. El Otmani in a statement to the press at the end of these talks.

The meeting aimed to discuss the views of the three countries on the Syrian issue, and to reaffirm the position of the Kingdom which adopts the declaration of the Arab League, which has strongly condemned the use of chemical weapons during the attack on Al-Ghota, he said.

The use of chemical weapons, prohibited by international laws and conventions, marked a major turning point in the Syrian crisis, the minister said, adding that Morocco "will continue to work with the international community so that this crime does not go unpunished."

Morocco had reiterated through a Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, condemnation of the "shameful massacre," on August 21 at Al- Ghota East (a Damascus suburb) "of which the Syrian government is held responsible," noting that "the final solution to the Syrian crisis can only be political through a serious and comprehensive dialogue and the preparation of the Geneva meeting II.
