Speaker of House of Advisors meets with Jordanian parliamentary delegation

Rabat - Speaker of the House of Advisors, Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah, met Tuesday in Rabat, with a Jordanian parliamentary delegation led by Mr. Hazem Kachou.

During this meeting, Biadillah hailed the excellent bilateral relations and ties of brotherhood uniting the two kingdoms, a statement of the Upper House said.

He also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and friendship between the two countries at all levels, serving the common interests of the people of Morocco and Jordan, the statement added.

Biadillah gave an overview of the recent development in the region in the context of the "Arab Spring", noting, in this regard, the unique character of Morocco's courageous and voluntary democratic model within a framework of stability, security, and which places citizens at the heart of the Moroccan democratization and sustainable development.

The Moroccan official also discussed the situation in the Sahel-Saharan Africa, a region plagued by threats of terrorist networks that undermine peace and global security.

For his part, the head of the Jordanian delegation welcomed the major constitutional reforms, undertaken under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, and their role in the strengthening democracy in the Kingdom, recalling the visit paid by HM the King to the medical and surgical field hospital deployed by Morocco in Zaatari camp in Jordan.

Jordanian MP also highlighted the support of his country to the territorial integrity of Morocco, and the strong presence of Rabat in the region.
