Spanish court accepts Morocco's appeal, orders reopening of El Pais probe on terror-related video

Rabat - In response to the Moroccan government's appeal, the Spanish justice system ordered the reopening of an investigation on El Pais paper following the posting of a video encouraging terrorism, a Moroccan legal source said on Friday.

Following the appeal by the Moroccan government against the verdict handed on Aug. 19, 2014, by a Spanish examining magistrate who decided to suspend the complaint and close it, the third penal court at the Spanish National Audience (Spain's top criminal court) ordered the examining magistrate to reopen the investigation and collect data related to the posting of the said video by El Pais , it said.

The penal court ordered an expertize on the work done by reporter Ignacio Cambrero, deeming that one minute of such video posting is enough to send terrorist orders all over the world and it is not retrievable. 

The Spanish public prosecutor decided, on June 18, 2014, to close Morocco's complaint about the posting of El Pais newspaper of a video showing members of Al Qaeda making terrorist threats against the Kingdom.
