Sonatrach at Gas Tech in London 8-10 October

More than 300 participants took part in the gas exhibition at Excel for four days, producers, consumers with leading stakeholders and service providers including major companies such as BG Group who hosted the event, BP, Exxon Mobil, Qatar Petroleum. Sonotrach also part in the Gas Tech conference attended by forty world gas companies.

The Head of the Delegation of Sonatrach, Djelloul Bensaad Bachi, took part in a panel of experts who responded to the concerns expressed by the audience in terms of security of supply, LNG, environmental protection etc.. ..

Algeria can become a major gas supplier to Japan, Shigeru Muraki, chief executive of the Tokyo Gas company said on the sidelines of the conference.

"Algeria is a gas exporter with long experience in the field, this is one of the most reliable suppliers of gas in the world, Japan is currently exploring the possibility of importing natural gas from countries across the Atlantic to diversify its resources, and in this context, Algeria may play a key role, "he told the official APS on the sidelines of the 26th edition of Gas Tech which takes place in London.

The main suppliers of natural gas in Japan are currently Russia, Malaysia and Australia, has indicated that expert whose country has abandoned its nuclear energy program after the accident at the Fukushima plant, which occurred in the following the earthquake and tsunami of 11 March 2011.

Over 2,000 participants attended the inaugural session of the 26th edition of Gas Tech that focuses on the gas market in the world, including security of supply, transport by pipeline or LNG,price indexation of gas prices on oil prices. The conference was opened by Edward Davey MP, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Sir Frank Chapman, chief executive of BG Group, which is hosting Gastech 2012.
