Shane Jacobson on crutches at Logies despite recent health scare

Shane Jacobson may be on crutches after a recent health scare but he wasn't missing the TV Week Logie Awards for anything. 

The 48-year-old posed on the red carpet on Sunday, his leg in a cast after he snapped his Achilles tendon in a near-fatal injury.

And on Saturday, the Kenny star was pictured at Brisbane airport ahead of the event, shuffling in on crutches, a large cast on his leg and a minder in tow.

Shane recently had an operation after tearing his tendon in Marrakesh, Morocco subsequently suffering deep vein thrombosis and two blood clots after flying home to Australia with the injury, which was originally though to be just a band sprain. 

'My doctor said I absolutely cannot get on an aeroplane,' he told the Daily Telegraph recently.  

'He said if I mess with this I could lose my life. The doctor didn't say I couldn't get on a bus,' he added. 

The comedian explained that he was keen to fly around Australia to promote his new film Brothers' Nest but doctors nixed the plan.

'When the doctor said I couldn't get on a plane, I thought it was fantastic as it gave us an excuse and a reason to do this by road,' he told the paper.

Instead, he'd done the promotional tour by hiring a bus, stopping everywhere from Orange to Wagga Wagga, Nambucca Heads, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.

It's unclear if The Dressmaker actor flew to the Gold Coast to attend the Logies, or if he traveled there using his trusty bus.

Her certainly enjoyed himself when he got there, posing with wife Felicity Hunter on the red carpet.
