Serbian PM Expresses her Country's Strong Will to Promote Economic Relations with Morocco

Belgrade - Serbian Prime minister Ana Brnabic expressed, Wednesday in Belgrade, her country’s strong will to promote economic cooperation with Morocco to bring it up to the excellent level of political relations and friendship linking Morocco to Serbia.

She stressed, at a meeting with Speaker of the House of Representatives Habib El Malki, who is on a two-day visit to Serbia, that her country considers Morocco a reliable friend, underlining the need to seize the economic opportunities in the two countries in order to boost their bilateral cooperation.

During their talks, the two parties discussed various issues of common interest, such as migration. In this respect, the Serbian Prime minister highlighted that Europe was not ready to face the massive flow of migrants in recent years, noting that Serbian authorities have managed this crisis responsibly and humanely.

In this regard, she commended Morocco’s migration policy, in addition to the organization next December of the Intergovernmental Conference on International Migration in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.

On his turn, Habib El Malki outlined investment opportunities between the two countries, especially in renewable energy, given Morocco’s recognized expertise in this area, which might be useful to Serbia.

The speaker of the House of Representatives also made reference to the importance of the Joint Committee meeting, suggesting the establishment of a Moroccan-Serbian Business Council to actively involve the private actors in the new dynamic of bilateral cooperation.
