Inaugurated in 1952 this hotel was built in the typical style of the 50s by a Swiss architect,and was long owned by the family Gracia, also owner of the famous coffee merchants. One would then hurry to take the lift - the first in town! - And discover
 

the top of the "Mirador"  which became "The SkyBar", the seventh floor overlooking the entire city and beyond. The nostalgic marrakchis still remember the times spent over coffee or a good French dish. The movie stars of the era Belmondo and Anthony Quinn would spend between two films, helping to build the legend of the place.

Sold and then closed for several years, some feared the worst. But,f or  Michel Schmitt, this was a favorite landmark hotel in the center of Guéliz and he decided to restore for Marrakesh one of its treasured heritage
icons.

Under the sign : "Celebrating the Dream", we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Renaissance. In an eclectic program, designed and painted by  high level local artists of the Red City, this is a way to celebrate  Moroccan artistic creativity to accompany the new era of hotel: Contemporary Arts, Culinary Arts, Music ..... And other surprises await you on  Wednesday, May 30.

This Day ceremony will be in the form of a journey through time, the program will begin in the fifties to pay tribute to the time of the genesis of the Renaissance Hotel, and binding it to this day.
