Restoration of roads damaged by floods to cost over 103 mln dollars
Rabat - The cost of the restoration of the roads damaged by the recent floods is estimated at over 103 million dollars, Minister of Equipment, Transport and Logistics, Aziz Rebbah said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a Lower House session on the floods' impact on infrastructure, Rebbah said that the road network in the flood-stricken areas is of 62,000 kilometers, of which 19,000 kilometers are untarred, as well as 7500 bridges including 505 that have been completely submerged by water.

Following Royal instructions, basic foodstuff, blankets and tents are being dispatched to flood-hit areas by helicopters deployed by the Royal Armed Forces and the Royal Gendarmerie.

On Monday, ten ships loaded with foodstuff, water treatment units and gas canisters, bound to flood-hit Sidi Ifni, left the airport of Agadir.

As of November 27, 11 people have been killed due to inundations and collapsing houses, in addition to more than 30 people who died in earlier floods last week.
