The head of Spanish diplomacy, who was speaking at the presentation of the Report of the Royal Elcano Institute on "strategic renovation of Spanish foreign policy," praised the level of bilateral cooperation in the fight against the illegal immigration and other areas.

Margallo, who was accompanied by former Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Marcelino Oreja and Javier Solana said that "the effort to control illegal immigration should not be done solely by Spain, but by the entire European Union," referring to incidents that have recently occurred in the occupied enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla.

The Spanish official said Rabat and Madrid maintain constant contacts on this issue, recalling the meeting held last week in Paris, between the Spanish and Moroccan Interior Ministers, Jorge Frenandez Diaz and Mohamed Hassad.
