The two officials examined the means to promote the bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on several regional and international issues of common interest, M. Bourita told MAP.

The holding of regular political consultations between Morocco and Norway reflects the desire of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations, he said, noting the convergence of views of both parties on the issues addressed.

For her part, Ms. Angell-Hansen said that the regular political consultations between the two countries have "helped to make concrete progress in the bilateral agenda."

After praising "the important role played by Morocco at the regional level in a situation marked by several challenges," the Norwegian official also welcomed the positive contribution of Moroccans living in Norway to economic development of her country and especially their contribution to building a "cultural bridge" between Europe and the Muslim world.

The Norwegian diplomat said she was "impressed by the progress made by Morocco" and the "steps taken in the field of human rights, particularly in terms of promoting the status of women."
