Reform of pension systems requires establishment of public/private mechanism which leads into single plan, Jettou
Rabat - The reform of the pension systems, in the medium and long term, requires the establishment of a public/private mechanism which leads into a single plan, supported by required and other supplemental plans, said Wednesday in Rabat, first president of the Audit Court, Driss Jettou. The first president of the Audit Court, who presented the report of activities of the Court of the 2012 fiscal year, at a joint hearing of both Houses of Parliament, called for generalizing coverage through the integration of self-employed workforce. He further stressed the need to improve governance and create an independent body tasked with monitoring the reform of the pension systems.

Jettou also called for preserving the purchasing power of pensioners through the establishment of a gradual reform that preserves the achievements of the current system and a mandatory and optional supplemental plan, as well as finding solutions while taking into account the hard nature of certain professions.
