Protestors attack US Consulate in Benghazi over Film. One American dead and other injured.
Militiamen attacked the US Consulate in Benghazi tonight over the film “Mohammed’s Trial” which is said to have been made in the US by Coptic Christians and protestors say insults the Prophet.

Protestors in Cairo today climbed the wall of the US Embassy and entered the premises. They burnt the American flag and replaced it with a black Islamic banner.
Reuters reports shooting at the US consulate in Benghazi between militiamen and US security guards in the consulate. A government spokesman said that the militia men were taking advantage of the Cairo protest to cause instability in Libya.
AP reportted that much of the consulate had been burned down by protestors.
The BBC and others later reported that one American consular official was killed and another American was killed by gunfire. Security guards were overwhelmed by the protestors and the building set on fire.
"One American official was killed and another injured in the hand. The other staff members were evacuated and are safe and sound," Libya's deputy interior minister Wanis al-Sharif told AFP news agency.
