Property and tourism: CDG and Al Taameer unite

The CDG recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kuwaiti Al Taameer group in Rabat , with the goal of working in the fields of real estate and tourism.

Through this agreement, both groups expressed their commitment to work together in the fields of real estate and tourism, The CEO of the CDG,Anas Alami said Wednesday in a statement adding that the partnership will be realised through Al Taameer, a subsidiary of Al Massaleh operating mainly in tourism and hospitality, MAP reported.
 
Al Taameer wants to invest in the design, management and marketing of real estate projects (including residential) in the construction of hotels and tourism projects, as well as in the development of shopping centres.
 
 Foe the CDG Group, this partnership is part of its development policy in the tourism sector, consisting of the creation of profitable investments in a sector with high growth potential, the statement added. It thus intends to benefit investment in Morocco from the successful experience of Al Taameer in the real estate and tourism sectors in the Gulf countries and to stimulate new actions in favour of structuring territorial development of the Kingdom.
 
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Director General of the CDG, Houri Anass Alami, and Vice President Al Taameer, Najeeb Al Saleh.
 
Al Taameer is already present in the hotel sector in Morocco, through the Ramada brand. The group currently has three assets, including the Ramada Fes, Tangier Ramada (opening soon) and a plot to Agadir designed to accommodate another Ramada.
 
In addition, the group conducted last October the acquisition of a parcel of land in Tangier, on which is  being developed as a multifunctional project, which will include a hotel, retail space and apartments and villas.
 
In 2007, the CDG has signed a partnership with Al Massaleh Kuwait estate,a player in the real estate market in the Gulf countries, the statement said
