Prime Minister Jebali continues with talks on technocrat government.

As the promised announcement on a promised government of technocrat ministers slipped from mid week Tunisians waited anxiuosly for the outcome of the talks.
Prime Minister Jebali continues with talks on technocrat government.

Consultations have  multiplied in recent days, which have  allowed Mr Jebali to garner the support of trade unions, secular parties, employers and part of the civil society so that he is now in a stronger position, according to the Algerian daily Liberte.

Rachid Ghannouchi said late on Monday that a new government is expected to be announced in two or three days, Al Jazeera reported."We are on the road to an understanding,'' he said. "We are moving toward forming a government of national union.''
 

In an interview with French newspaper Le Figaro, published February 14, Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki believes that Tunisia has "absorbed the shock of the assassination" of  Chokri Belaid.The next consitutuion shouldlimitthe president to two terms and should prevent any return to dictatorship. The  CPR, Mr Marzouki's party, is demnading that the Minister of Interior Ali Laarayedh. and Foreign Minister Rafik Abdessalem both from Ennhada  should stand down. President Marzouki met with the secretary general of the Trade Unionorganisation UGTT to discuss the  olitical crisis, TAP reported.

The Ennhada party publically still resists the formation of a governmentof technocrats and Hamadi Jebali has
said that if his proposal for a government of technocrats is rejected,he will resign. The negotiations continue. Hamadi Jebali will seek to form a government of technocrats by Saturday to solve the country's crisis or resign, he announced Thursday according to an AP report.
