President Abdullah Gül on official visit to Tunisia
Bilateral relations, as well as matters of regional and international concern will be discussed at President Gül's meeting with President Moncef Marzouki. President Gül will also have meetings with the President of the Constituent Assembly of Tunisia Mustapha Ben Jafar and Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali, and address the Tunisian Constituent Assembly.

The Turkish President will also visit one of the oldest schools in Tunisia, Sadiki College and have brief conversations with students. President Gül's three-day visit will affirm Turkey's strong support for Tunisia's democratic transformation and review bilateral relations that rest upon brotherly and historical ties between the two nations. The improvement of bilateral cooperation will also be taken up in detail, according to TRT.

Turkey is an important role model for Tunisia  because of its successful combination of Islam and democracy and its economic successes. There is the common hertitage of the Ottoman empire. Both countries aree close to Europe and have concluded trading agreements.  During Prime Minister Erdogan's visit a Friendship and Cooperation agreement between the two countries was concluded and Tunisia is seeking  badly needed Turkish investment and expertise in its economy with a propsed Turkish industrial zone in Zarzis. Turkey will also consider Tunisia as an important  base for its operations in Libya where a number of Turkish companies were active prior to the otherthrow of Gaddafi.
