Polisario, major source of destabilization in region, research center
Dakar - The separatist Polisario adventure is one of the main sources of instability in the Maghreb and Sahel, warned Thursday in Dakar, Professor Charles Saint-Prot, Director of the Geopolitical Studies Observatory (OEG ) in Paris.

"It is high time to put an end to the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara," said Saint -Prot, who was speaking during Matinales Geopolitique, organized by the Dakar office of the Diplomatic and Strategic Studies Center (CEDS-Paris).
While stressing the urgency of resolving this artificial conflict, which increases security risks in addition to the various other risk factors in the Sahel region, the lecturer highlighted the Sahara autonomy proposal presented by the Kingdom, which constitutes "an innovative roadmap that takes into account local realities and the particular identity of the people.
" Described as "serious" and "credible", this autonomy model could even serve as an example for experiments of advanced regionalization to solve crises in some countries, said Professor Saint-Prot, noting that the international community must now take responsibility of the issue.
